'Mighty Aphrodite'. Exclusive By Nick Sushkevich For The Libertine. The Spring Fling 2014. Cover. 8The Libertine welcomes fabulous first time contributor Nick Sushkevich. Nick, who has worked in fashion for years (most notably for Ulyana Sergeenko) has created an incredible studio editorial to feature the dramatic attributes of young siren, Liza Sotnikova. The series contains so many striking and memorable images, that the Libertine will be releasing it in two parts for our Spring Fling series! With the second half of this story, there will be an accompanying interview with the photographer himself; regarding the journey of his career into fashion photography, as well as updates on some of the exciting opportunities on his horizon. Part one of ‘Mighty Aphrodite’ captures the smoldering sensuality of  our whimsical muse, with simplistic styling and lavish embellishments. This collection is one of our personal favorites of the season…hence why we are dedicating two features to it! The dynamic Voguesque perfection of the images is virtually overwhelming. “I choose to risk my significance…to live so that which came to me as seed, goes to the next as blossom…”(Dawna Markova).

Our newest publication, ‘Seed To Blossom’, is an exclusive original from Slovakian photographer Natalia Horinkova. Living and working today in sunny Sydney, Natalia has been pursuing unique photography since she first picked up a camera in Dubai, years ago. In discussing her career, Natalia asserts “I love all pretty things, in any form; and I live to tell a wordless story with my editorials. I prefer natural light, but love playing and experimenting around the studio, while still developing my craft and style”. This series stars classic beauty, Vladimira O’Farrow (who is also a small screen natural, in the most recent Kid Cudi video) poses in striking, basic black pieces and vintage curls for a soft feminine appeal. With subtle makeup by artist Lubica Krajnakova and grooming by stylist Dominicc Mikulcak (@ Alterna), Vladimira is both enchanting and distinctive. The composition of these shots is sharp, clean and unusually ‘pretty’ for our often edgy collection…making it the perfect accentuation. Enjoy!

‘Slow Drift’ is a laid back editorial with very little manufacturing and no pretense. Conceptualized by photographer Marco Michieletto (a Libertine favorite) this story marries feminine charm with easy energy and simplistic styling. For this latest Libertine exclusive, Marco captures young Italian beauty, Deborah Parcesepe, passing a wistful afternoon at home in Milano, Italy. The shoot wanders through the brightly lit open spaces of a European flat, drinking in a moment alone with this ambrosial new talent. Deborah styled all of her own looks for ‘Slow Drift’; lending to the authentic intimacy of this stunning portraiture. She seems to have an almost ethereal quality about her bare faced beauty…like a breath of fresh air. Enjoy!

As part of our Summer Session, The Libertine was pleased to collaborate with photographer Katja Kremenic to bring our readers this ethereal summer 2013 lookbook for exotic new resort label, Cariblanco. The series, created in Costa Rica, captures Swiss/Costarricense designer-turned-model Fabiana Kuhn in an array of soft and eclectic leisurewear, as she explores the jungles, coast lines and breath taking horizons of a tropical paradise. This story  transports the reader to a peninsular oasis where wayfarers sleep late, subsist on natures bounty and never have an obligation to get fully dressed. Back in Ashley’s birthplace of Austin, Texas, the A-Team shoots a Rock & Roll/Redneck editorial for the Fall issue of Russh 2010. Between cowboy bars, backyard barbeques, junkyards and jacked-up trucks…Davidson captures an ordinary day of Texas life for a very UN-ordinary gap-toothed girl, in an almost voyeuristic way. Ashley sports her usual eclectic, off-beat style; offsetting her stunningly quirky beauty in this biopic twelve page spread.

Treats! Magazine (now on it’s third issue) has always towed the fine line between fashion and pornography. Chalk full of nudity, Treats! is not the average fashion magazine for all audiences. While they employ some of the most tasteful and artistic photographers in the bizz, Treats! strives time and again to produce a publication which can be considered little less that ‘eye candy’ for the liberal minded adult. On the pages of this glossy, you see happy, healthy women; enjoying themselves playfully, rather than stiff, plastic porn stars posed in demeaning scenarios...Truly a pioneer in the industry, Treats! Magazine has produced a beautiful and tasteful third issue, including the editorial ‘Swingers Party'; inspired by classic shoots straight from the pages of vintage playboys.
